St. Peter’s Basilica

St. Peter’s Basilica

Looking up at the height, and length of the hallway.

If only viewing the wonders of St. Peter’s Basilica, going through the museum is not required. Head to the back route and wait in line on the cobbled street. To get in, you must get through metal detectors.

However, after be free to explore and be amazed. This basilica is not only filled with so much symbolism and history but secrets too. Inside, find the Pieta (the only statue protected by glass) by Michelangelo, along with many more statues, paintings, and carvings. Down the center aisle, find markers to demonstrate the largest churches around the world compared to the size of this basilica.

This beautiful marble statue is the only piece signed by the famous artist.

Have your breath taken away for a moment in how much color fills each inch. The way the light enters through the dome will stun you as well as it floods the whole area. Notice each of the niches have their own religious artwork too.

Entry for only the Basilica is free. St. Peter’s Basilica is a church and appropriate clothing is required. Come in at least casual dress.
